Welcome to my Comparative Education section.
Please find my notes taken from:
Bray, M., Adamson, B. & Mason, M. (eds.) (2007): Comparative Education Research: Approaches and
Methods. Hong Kong: Comparative
Education Research Centre, The University of Hong Kong, and Dordrecht:
Springer.
In my Globalization of Education section I briefly talked about about my personal background and how I have experienced learning and teaching in a number of educational systems from around the world both from student's and an educator's perspective.
One of the major draws to taking this Master of Education specialisation is to move from the anecdotal to the formal. Indeed, I wish to equip myself with tools that will allow me to compare, analyse and present my experiences in a scientific and rational way.
One of the editors of this key reading is Mark Bray who is also the course convenor. It will be a privilege to learn from such an eminent scholar in the field of Comparative Education. Mark Bray, has developed a framework for conceptualizing comparative education research which I shall review in this section.
